A Full Service Foundry
Polich Tallix is a full service art foundry offering engineering support, architectural services, mold making, sand and lost wax casting, finishing, patination and coating, transport and installation as well as a full range of conservation and restoration services. We have created some of the world’s most beautiful modern masterpieces and are committed to craftsmanship and the quest for technical excellence.
The main working area of the foundry is as large as a football field and four stories high. Overhead, along the ceiling, bridge cranes with a 100-foot span and a 50 ton capacity rumble up and down over the well equipped workspace, versatile enough to create anything.
Dick Polich, the founder and President of Polich Tallix, is an engineer and holds a Master’s Degree in Metallurgy from MIT. He holds multiple patents for his innovations in metal sculpture making, and was a leader in developing new patinas and coatings. In the 1970’s, he combined his experience in the industrial casting world, and his love of art into the opening and running of large art making foundries. In 1996 Dick Polich opened Polich Art Works bringing with him more than 20 years of art making experience to his new, more intimate and more innovative venture. Today, Dick Polich infuses his foundry with a sense of possibility, a love of innovation, a dedication to excellence, and the joy of rising to any challenge.
